We may have only been in for two days this week but Starfish have been very busy! We have been looking at Sea creatures this week and the children could tell us about lots of different animals that live under the sea. On Friday morning we made our own jellyfish, using glue and sticking on lots of different coloured paper for their tentacles. The children were also amazing at trying to write their own name on their jellyfish. We can’t wait to be able to display them in the classroom!
This week we have been recapping our knowledge of equivalence between fractions, decimals and percentages – from the photos you can see that we really enjoyed playing some games to help improve our confidence and speed in converting between them! In English we have begun to learn about newspapers – we are looking forward to sharing with you our own articles next week but have been busying learning about indirect speech and the key features we need to include. In Science we have conducted an investigation into the the impact of exercise on heart rate… and concluded we were pretty tired! Next week we will need to bring in a small plastic bottle for our science lesson… Miss Peck has something exciting planned.
We have been very busy this week. Thursday was our topic day which for a change we didn’t do as a whole class. Reception became vexillologists for the day. The looked at and recreated lots of different world flags before creating their own. Meanwhile years 1 and 2 had an RE focused day looking at different stories in Christianity and Hinduism and seeing what different people can learn from each other. Year 1 and 2 have also finished their Fox fact files this week and they look fantastic!
