Wow! What a super week Starfish have had!
We have continued learning about Transport this week and on Wednesday we completed a special traffic survey. The children each had a clipboard, a pencil and a traffic check sheet and we walked to the bottom gate outside Starfish so we could watch the road and make notes on what traffic we saw. Starfish were fantastic at listening out for the different vehicles and ticking them off. We also talked about road safety and why we stayed behind the gate rather than go out onto the road.
The children have been building on their maths skills, looking at numbers 0-5 and using the Numberblock characters to help them. They enjoyed exploring our maths tray and finding different objects to make the numbers, using their counting skills and working collaboratively.
We have also continued our Monster Phonic learning and Starfish were very lucky to receive some new books introducing all the different characters! The children loved looking through the books and reading up about each monster. This has been our favourite activity this week, reading a new book each day and talking about the Monster Phonic character we have met!
