Dolphin Class Weekly Update 07/05/2021

It may have only been a short week but we have learnt lots. In maths, have been learning to use our number facts to improve our mental calculations as well as conquering our understanding of missing box problems. Our writing has focused on the use of powerful language to interest the reader as we have continued our work on Greek Myths. We are looking forward to sharing these with you once they are all finished. Our computing, has seen us start to develop programs to animate characters on the screen and we are having great fun finding new ways to add features to the animated worlds. We have also been busy sorting living things as part of our science work, which gave us an opportunity to use our collaborative JONK skills. On a different note we would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Lumb for her hard work and dedication. Miss Lumb has decided now is the right time to pursue other passions and we wish her the very best for the future. Mrs Bellison will now have the pleasure of teaching Dolphin class 5 days a week until the end of the academic year.

Dolphin Class Weekly Update (23/04/21)

We have continued our work around the Greek myths but this week we have started to read ‘Perseus and the Gorgons’ . Dolphins have discovered the gorgon Medusa during their character writing and created mythical creatures of their own. We delved into the use of author’s language to help the reader visualise pictures from our description. I can assure you no one would want to meet them. In maths, we have been working on developing our understanding of tenths using pictorial representations to help us see their size and place value. Many of the Dolphins are now finishing their symmetrical greek pots and they are looking fantastic.
