Dolphin Class Weekly Update 16/06/2023

It has been back to normal this week in Dolphin class after last week’s ‘On the Map’ project focus. In English we have started our heritage text of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ and so far the children have been enjoying writing about Ratty, Mole, Toad and his freshly painted, bright yellow caravan. We designed our own caravan, with lots of the children having the latest technology inside theirs, then writing descriptions of our caravans.

In Maths this week we have moved onto working with time. I have been super impressed with the children’s ability to tell the time and how curious they have been asking lots of questions about why we use time and the history of time.

Over in topic we have been investigating how farming happened in the past, how it is done today and compared the differences. The main difference we noticed was how the change in technology has helped farmers be more efficient, but also to see that modern methods have their own problems.
