Dolphin Class Weekly Update 21/04/2023

Dolphins have had a very busy first week back at school after the Easter break.  We started the week being introduced to our new topic of Navigating Norfolk, where we will be aiming to answer the question ‘Is water our most valuable resource?’

On Tuesday, the majority of the class had Bikeability. These children had a great time learning how to ride their bikes in a safe manner. While this was happening the rest of the class were on the school field playing maths games and finding patterns in nature. We were able to find lots of interesting patterns, with my favourite being a bird poo pattern some of the children spotted.

In science, we have been investigating the different States of Matter, testing to see what materials are solids, liquids and gases, as well as experimenting to see how we can change their states using heating and freezing.

In English, we have been writing our narrative based on the Disney short film The Blue Umbrella. The children completed their short write on Thursday, creating a conversation between the Blue and Red umbrellas.

In Maths, the class has moved away from fractions and our new focusing on decimals. We have been working very hard and this has shown in their understanding levels and work being produced.
