Dolphin Class Weekly Update 23/06/2023

Dolphin class have had a very tasty week. On Monday, the class were tasting a range of different breads, finally agreeing to make our own soda bread. Next, we had to pair the bread with an item of local produce. To do this we tasted a few different items that were made nearby, the best part of this was watching the class taste raw garlic and onions. The class were then able to choose an ingredient to put into their soda bread recipes.

On Tuesday morning, the class prepared and baked their bread with their special ingredient inside (most of course choose to have chocolate). Then in the afternoon, we sampled our delicious soda breads. Throughout these activities the children showed great collaboration, working together to create their desired bread.

In English, we have continued with our topic on ‘The Wind in the Willows’, creating some fantastic sentences full of great adventures with Toad, Mole and Ratty.

Over in maths, the class have moved away from working with time and onto perimeter. We have been honing our measuring skills to ensure we are correctly measuring the outside of shapes.
