Dolphin Class Weekly Update 28/04/2023

This week in Dolphins we have been learning all about the water cycle, with children fascinated to learn that the water we drink today is the same water that dinosaurs drank thousands of years ago. Within our learning we have made 3D models of the water cycle in bags and observed as the water has evaporated and condensed on the windows of the classroom, which was very exciting to watch. We then made a poster in our books explaining all the different parts water travels in during the cycle. It has been great to see how interested every child has been learning about this topic and I am sure parents have heard all about it.

In English, we have carried on with The Blue Umbrella (a romantic story about a blue umbrella and a red umbrella), producing a Big Write on Friday where we finished the story.

In maths, we have continued our work with decimals. We have moved onto understanding how to write and position hundredths on a place value chart. All children using a range of resources to help in their understanding of decimals which can be a very confusing subject.
