Seahorse Class Weekly Update

This week we have been problem solving in year 2 maths. We had to make each row and column add up to the same number and could only use the numbers 0, 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 in the pre-filled grid. This required a lot of collaboration and resilience. Can you solve it?

Meanwhile in year one we have been busy recapping our number bonds within and to ten. We have used a range of manipulatives such as cubes and numicon to help us find all the possibilities.

In year 2 we have also finished our writing on ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers. We wrote our own endings for the story. We used everything we had learnt over the last two weeks and managed to include conjunctions, a range of adjectives and words to describe emotions.

Our topic work has focused on the seasons and the weather. We have thought about what the seasons are and the different types of weather we get in each season. After talking about it we realised we get a lot of similar types of weather across all the seasons.
