Shark Class Weekly Update 22/09/2023

It has been a very productive week here in Sharks! For most of us, it has been a pretty normal week. We have been editing last week’s independent writing and preparing to bring the story of The Little Ships to a close in Writing, we’ve looked at retrieval, inference and vocabulary using the classic tale of Goodnight Mr Tom, and we’ve been focusing on our fundamental addition skills in maths – looking at how to model what is happening behind the scenes of the formal column method using base-10 and place value counters. In Topic, we have finally begun looking into the aircraft involved in the Battle of Britain, researching, comparing, and contrasting which of the aircraft was the best and explaining why. So far, Sharks are on Team Hurricane – praising its robust and sturdy body, hard hitting weaponry and ease of repair.

Elsewhere, some of us were out and about in the rain on Monday and Tuesday as we underwent our Bikeability training. We had a lot of fun, even if we did get absolutely soaked. I am looking forward to seeing what we get up to next week!
