Shark Class Weekly Update 23/06/2023

It feels like this has been the most ordinary week that Sharks have had in a very very long time! In English, we have been writing travelling tales based upon the classic story of The Wind in the Willows, culminating in a luxurious carriage ride across some of the most beautiful sites in the UK – including Stonehenge, Loch Ness, St Ives and Snowdonia! I’m very much looking forward to reading the finished tales.

For Maths, we’ve been developing our decimal knowledge further, looking at how to add and subtract bits of numbers with a variety of strategies that we can use for many different challenges. We’ve also looked at the similarities and differences between sequencing whole numbers and decimals.

In Topic, we’ve been focusing on developing artwork based around pop-art printing with a Norfolk Broads theme. We’ve printed kingfishers, swallowtail butterflies, badgers and everything in between.

All in all, it’s been a very enjoyable week of normality before the summer-term excitement ramps back up again next week with the Year 5 residential at Mundesley and our Year 6s heading to the Norfolk Show to show off our On The Map work around apples.
